A gas explosion at a coal mine in Shanxi, China, on May 22 killed at least 90 people, marking the country’s worst mining disaster in 17 years.
Surveillance footage broadcast by state media on Monday (May 25) showed the moment of the explosion.
Authorities said the cause of the accident is still under investigation, but preliminary findings indicate that the company operating the mine had committed “serious violations.”
A serious gas explosion occurred on the 22nd at the Liushen Gully Coal Mine in Shanxi Province, China, with the latest official report confirming at least 82 deaths, making it one of the deadliest mining disasters in 17 years.
However, in the initial stages of the incident, local authorities only reported 8 deaths. It was only after top central Chinese leaders Xi Jinping and Li Qiang issued directives to “spare no effort in search and rescue, and release information in a timely and accurate manner” that the death toll was quickly updated to 90, before being revised downward to 82, sparking widespread suspicion of local “underreporting.”
While fatalities from production safety accidents in China have declined in recent years, official data shows that in the first quarter of 2023, there were still over 3,200 incidents, with an average of more than 30 deaths per day.

We need to remind about this disaster.. Total casualties announced by China Government. CCP alwayes trying to recue damages and causlties of domestic disasters to emphasisz how thri country is safe and happy in the World. Most of Chinese civilians have been brainwashed to believing their mother land is very safe and happy country in the World. China’s problem is not admit their problem but hiding and manipulating that leading no progress in the future. Chinese are totally living in the imagined virtual world by their own.In this disaster, occurd by China’s traditional working habit that they made a secret tunnel in the deepest site of mine to get more coal that does not reported to government. yes. mine was state-owned.
90 lives death is not a big thing to Chinese people.. They are preparing to create yet another fake hero by focusing on how arduous the search and rescue operation is. The Chinese people will forget their grief over the deceased, their anger over the shoddy working conditions and the state’s abysmal level of supervision, and instead chatter away merely praising the hero, only to soon be forgotten from their minds. Just as the Chinese Communist Party wants.
Charge forward, retreat, or remain stagnant?
As the youngest provincial governor in the country, Lu Dongliang, the governor of Shanxi Province and an alternate member of the 20th Central Committee, had a disastrous start compared to his peers. Bearing the dazzling halo of a “political star,” he could have followed in the footsteps of his predecessors and entered the cabinet.
However, precisely at this critical juncture on the eve of the 21st National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Shanxi suffered its most devastating mining disaster in over a decade. Negligence in management shattered countless innocent miners’ families and also became a stumbling block in his own political career.
The struggle for power is often this cruel.

Chinese are struggling to maintain life pretending nothing happen in their country by follwing propaganda of their government.
